Yew Wood "Oyster" Chest of Drawers

This beautiful chest has an unusual drawer configuration having three small and three long drawers all with Walnut banding. The term Oyster refers to a form of veneering which uses thin slices of wood branches or roots cut in cross section. The resulting circular pieces of veneer are laid side by side to create a unique decorative pattern. Our prefered material is Yew but Walnut, Olive and Laburnum are often used.  This finish can also be found among our selection of bureaux.

Most of our furniture can be made in Mahogany, Walnut, Burr Walnut, Pollard Oak, Rosewood, Yew Oyster and Walnut Oyster and only British hardwood is used. We stock an extensive selection of exotic veneers for special commissions.

Due to natural fluctuations in wood grain and colour the final finish may vary. Exact matches cannot be guaranteed, however our skilled polishers do achieve a very close match to customer requirements.

Our workshops are open seven days a week but please make an appointment so a member of staff is available for your enquiries.
