Kneehole Writing Desk in Walnut

Our Kneehole Writing Desk includes all the typical features of a Pedestal desk. The leather work surface is supported by two pedestals, each housing four drawers and one central drawer. The Kneehole example differs from the more usual style in that it includes a back panel, originally called a Modesty Paneldesigned to conceal the legs of its occupant. Nowadays it is more simply a question of appearance or the position of the desk. This example is made from Walnut but as with most of our models it can be made in a variety of sizes, colours and finishes.

Most of our furniture can be made in Mahogany, Walnut, Burr Walnut, Pollard Oak, Rosewood, Yew Oyster and Walnut Oyster and only British hardwood is used. We stock an extensive selection of exotic veneers for special commissions.

Due to natural fluctuations in wood grain and colour the final finish may vary. Exact matches cannot be guaranteed, however our skilled polishers do achieve a very close match to customer requirements.
